US Wars Are For Empire, Not For Profit

Yemen is being destroyed. A US-backed “Saudi Coalition” has been bombing and shelling Yemen for 16 months. The UN puts the civilian death toll at 3700, but (aside from the question of why combatants’ lives apparently only count if they are Western soldiers) this probably vastly under-represents the death toll by both direct violence and by the indirect effects of the war. Most of the country has no reliable access to clean water and people, particularly young children, are dying of disease and deprivation.

US STRIKING ISLAMIC STATE "LEADERS" IS MEANINGLESS, SUPERFICIAL AMID A WAR MEANT TO LAST

The United States has boasted responsibility for allegedly killing Islamic State spokesman and supposed senior leader Mohammad al-Adnani in northern Syria. The reports, like many of its kind, remain unconfirmed with evidence forthcoming.

The BBC in its article, "Islamic State: Abu Muhammad al-Adnani 'killed in Aleppo'," would claim:
The Pentagon said an air strike had targeted Adnani in the town of al Bab and the results were being assessed.

Reports of his death come as IS is suffering a series of military reverses in both Syria and Iraq.
Such announcements appear aimed at portraying the US military as engaged in military operations to combat and defeat the Islamic State, a terrorist organisation that sprung forth from Al Qaeda in Iraq and Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These assassinations are meant to pave the way for perpetual war in the Middle East, which is very much to the liking of this country's military/industrial complex.

The extrajudicial assassinations, of which President Obama is so very fond, not only kill off the alleged guy who "needed killing"; it also takes out children, moms, aunties, grandparents, and the medically fragile elderly.

And if THIS is not going to radicalize people toward jihad, then, what is?!?

US intends to break up Iraq for Israel’s interests: Activist

Press TV has talked to peace activist and former US Marine, Ken O’Keefe, to get his take on the remarks made by the Secretary General of the Iraqi resistance movement Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba (HHN), saying the Middle East region’s woes have only worsened ever since the onset of the US “war on terror”.

60 US Lawmakers Want Planned Arms Sale To S Arabia Delayed

A bipartisan group of 60 American lawmakers has penned a letter to President Barack Obama seeking to delay the planned sale of $1.15 billion in arms and other military gear to Saudi Arabia, according to a report.

The letter cites the growing number of civilian casualties in Yemen caused by the Saudi military aggression there.

Death in Yemen: British Weapons Sales to Saudi Arabia, and the “Proper Use” of Illegal Arms

The death toll in Yemen is now so high that the International Committee of the Red Cross is donating “entire morgue units” (1) to hospitals still standing, having so far escaped the illegal Saudi assault, backed, advised and armed by the US and UK.

“The hospitals were not able to cope,” said Rima Kamal, a Yemen-based spokesperson for the Red Cross. “You could have more than 20 dead people brought into one hospital on one single day. The morgue capacity at a regular hospital is not equipped to handle this influx of dead bodies.”

“It is not that common for the ICRC to donate morgues,” she observed. “The fact that we now do is telling of the size of the human tragedy in Yemen.” The ICRC has donated body bags and refrigerated storage facilities to three hospitals with: “More in the pipeline.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The leadership in the UK should be ashamed of this trade in weapons, and the war crimes committed by the Saudi military against the people of Yemen; of course, that "being ashamed" reaction only happens when one has not had one's moral conscience surgically removed.

Looks like the BLOOD they have shed of Libyans is not enough for the Israeli occupied US Government

Obama Extends Libya War, Will Keep Warships Off Libyan Coast

On August 1, the Obama Administration ordered attacks on ISIS in the Libyan city of Sirte, starting another American war. Officially, Congress was informed that this would be a 30-day operation, but even when it started officials were conceding that there really was no “end point” for the war in any plans.

Unsurprisingly we’re now 30 days in, and there’s still no end point, so President Obama felt obliged to confirm a 30-day extension of the war, with officials saying it was done at the recommendation of senior military leaders. As before, this stated length is little more than a bureaucratic placeholder, and there is no reason to believe the war won’t just continue o indefinitely.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would imagine that the war-hawks and the heads of corporations for the military industrial complex have a nickname for President Obama; perhaps something like St. Barak, the Warmonger/Profit-Bringer in Chief?!?

These endless, undeclared wars are going to be the death of this country, and create permanent outrage, translating into more jihad and more wars.

But perhaps, that is just the point.....

Obama Granted Iran "Secret" Nuclear Deal Exemptions, Despite Claiming Otherwise

One of the recurring criticisms of Obama's landmark Nuclear deal with Iran is that in Obama's scramble to get a formalized agreement, he had implemented many loopholes allowing Iran substantial leeway far beyond what was disclosed for public consumption. And, in the latest blow to US foreign policy under the Obama administration, a new report confirms precisely that. According to Reuters, the United States and its negotiating partners agreed "in secret" to allow Iran to evade some restrictions in last year's landmark nuclear agreement in order to meet the deadline for it to start getting relief from economic sanctions.

The report is to be published on Thursday by the Washington-based Institute for Science and International Security, said the think tank’s president David Albright, a former U.N. weapons inspector and co-author of the report. It is based on information provided by several officials of governments involved in the negotiations, who Albright declined to identify.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Of COURSE, President Obama lied; that's what sociopaths do.

I used to believe that, perhaps, on the Iranian deal, he had, finally, done something right; at the moment, I stand firmly disabused of that notion; but the question is, what does the US and the P5+1 do NOW, to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear-armed nation, in the most peaceful and honest way possible?!?

As William Shakespeare once remarked, "Aye, there's the rub!"

Thailand sentences man to 35 in jail for trafficking Rohingyas

http://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2016/09/01/482688/Thailand-Sunand-Saengthong-Rohingya-trafficking

‘........Sunand had been arrested in January last year after police intercepted five vehicles at a checkpoint in the Hua Sai district of the province and found 98 “very thin and tired men, women and children,” packed inside them, struggling for life.

According to the Asian Human Rights Commission, the Rohingya refugees, 40 of them minors, had been crammed in the vehicles so tightly that some of them had suffocated to death.

The tragic discovery of those ethnic Rohingya people was followed by a further discovery of squalid jungle camps, mass graves and an international human trafficking ring.

QUOTE:

One of the officials from your country asked me seven years ago in Syria at the end of a meeting, “How do you think we can solve the problem in Afghanistan?” I told him, “You have to be able to deal with officials who are not puppets, who can tell you no.” So for the United States, only looking for puppet officials and client states is not how you can serve the interests of your country. You are the greatest power in the world now; you have too many things to disseminate around the world: knowledge, innovation, IT, with its positive repercussions. How can you be the best in these fields yet the worst in the political field? This is a contradiction. That is what I think the American people should analyze and question. Why do you fail in every war? You can create war, you can create problems, but you cannot solve any problem. Twenty years of the peace process in Palestine and Israel, and you cannot do anything with this, in spite of the fact that you are a great country.

But in the context of Syria, what would a better policy look like?
One that preserves stability in the Middle East. Syria is the heart of the Middle East. Everybody knows that. If the Middle East is sick, the whole world will be unstable. [President Bashar al Assad]
