The destruction of the Ottoman Empire, which was effected in the First World War, resulted in the emergence of the secular State of Turkey. The government was constituted of secularized westernized Turkish nationalists who worked hand-in-glove with an under-ground Jewish movement. They first reduced the Caliphate to an office that resembled that of the Pope, and then abolished it. But the secularization process in the world of Islam was sealed when the Hejaz, under the rule of Abdul Aziz ibn Saud, also joined Mustafa Kamal (Ataturk) in the rejection of the supremacy of Islam over the State. And so Arabia, the heartland of Islam, also embraced the secular model of a State. The birth of the State of Saudi Arabia coincided with the destruction of the Dar al-Islam that had been established by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Now the enemies of Islam paid very careful attention to the study and understanding of the link between the Caliphate, the power of Islam as a world-wide force, and control over the Haramain, and then planned their diabolical strategy to render Islam powerless, and to confine it to a personal private faith with no authority over public life. In other words they planned their strategy to secularize Islam and so reduce Muslims to the godless European way of life.
